Furry Friends Workshop Saturday Nov 1 at Riley Street
Saturday, September 13, 2025
Wow, it's truly been years since I have taught a stand-alone workshop at Riley and I'm really happy to announce that I've got one on the books.
What's better to paint than our furry friends, and you know what? If your best friend is scaly or winged who cares... Come and paint with us!
You can really use any medium you want except oils (I'm allergic, sorry). So bring your favorite medium - gouache, acrylic, pastels - oil or chalk, and any mixed media along. If you recall how I love to paint - it's all about the mixed media as the cherries on top. Never tried it? Come see what it is all about.
You can be an absolute beginner and have fun and learn tips in this workshop but do bring the supplies you'll need: Paint, water bucket, rag, canvas or watercolor paper and a good pencil or charcoal pencil for drawing in.
I will lead us all into the basic drawing techniques to get nice loose but really expressive lines. And the other thing you must have is ideally a few pictures of your favorite pet because some pictures work better than others. So if you bring a few then we'll use the best of the batch.
Bring your phone or a tablet especially those who are interested in doing a little photo editing before we start. I can lead you through that as well. If no phone or tablet bring a few good color printouts of your pet.
There will be a short break for lunch so it's best to bring a lunch or some nibbles with you and you can either go outside or we can eat in the classroom during a short 30 or so minute break while we talk Art and Life.
For those of you who have been wanting to study with me but can't quite do the monthly/weekly routine, here's your chance to come and have the best kind of artsy fun.
To guarantee your spot, register early by contacting me. Class size limited to 8 students.
