Painting Wild Thing & Video

Friday, April 17, 2020

Hello Artsy Souls,

A dear friend and fellow artist, Judy Jacobs - aka "JJ", sent me a sweet little envelope full of ephemera (collage pieces) to add to my art. I decided to videotape myself playing at my art desk. Here's the result - the painting of Wild Thing. After the video ended I finished her off with a mix of my mixed media faves.

I used my humungous set of 48 Himi Gouache* which was a blast to play with. This is the first time I have tried to show my paint palette as well as the art I am creating in a video, so give me a couple more tries to improve on that. These are ridiculously inexpensive gouache paints, they come in 30ml jelly cups, and it is a blast to paint with. Well, enjoy the video....you can watch me throw some paint around. LOL.

A few more bits and bobs - teaching online has mostly smoothed out, ironically, it's my new laptop that is causing a few blips by losing connection. My art desk device (ipad pro) keeps the connection just fine. So it's just my face that blacks out!  Ha ha ha. But worry not, I just ordered a new laptop and this one is going back into the box for a refund! Must carry on til it arrives.

NOTE:  A Marty B contacted me about my online classes - dear Marty I emailed you back but your email bounced, twice. Btw - if any of you contact me and I don't respond, please try me again because i make it a habit of always responding. Now I am not perfect, but I do take emails to me seriously and make every effort to respond in short order.

That's it for now. Anyone else climbing the walls during shelter-in-place? I am!

Stay well!  That's the most important part. Practice Patience, Stillness, Meditation, Creativity.....Kindness!

Be Creative. It's Good for the Soul!
Blessings, Joanie
