Drawings, Doodlings, My Bliss
Friday, April 10, 2015
I am getting ready for a summer trip and want to practice my all-too-rusty sketching skills for the new sites I will be seeing, and I just feel like drawing these days. When Life gets too busy and complicated, my Soul just longs for, craves and requires utter Simplicity. And drawing is that for me. Simple, beautiful lyrical lines, broken and fluid, thick and thin, just INTERESTING. So here’s what I’ve been up to and what I’ve used:
- various inks – colored india inks, black waterproof ink, dr ph martin brand mostly
- my ever lovely gouache, of course
- caran d’ache neocolor II crayons
- collage bits
- bamboo pen (absolutely nothing like it)
- canson XL 140lb watercolor paper
- handbook journals (these are fab! and i like them sooo much better than the popular Moleskine)
