End of May
Another year flying by
And I pray it meets you doing what you Love
What makes you Happy.
For me
That is always Creating
Making something
Fixing something,
Painting in my sketchbook
Sewing up a quilt from a single block to being wrapped in its coziness
Dreaming something up
New or improved
Getting lost in a great book
One that inspires and makes you think more deeply
Friends, they make me happy!
Your turn!
We are continuing our Landscape excursion into June.
I presented so much these past 4 weeks to get your juices flowing and our May-June Album is bursting with ideas:
- Compositional ideas for landscapes
- Value Studies (I could do 10 at one sitting there's just so much to learn here)
- Abstraction through Color, oh my we are talking green skies and pink trees!
- And then there is shape, line, texture, and the list goes on and on. But there are definitely more than enough ideas to spark a painting or 3 out of you in June.
So here are a few examples of what I have been doing so far in this Landscape theme.
Value Studies
Landscape Mini Studies
And then I played around with small thumbnails in a mixed media sketchbook, fountain pen, watercolor and gouache. My happy place.
Scenes from Shollenberger Park, Petaluma Wetlands.
*- and I will tell you a secret...I never paint landscapes.....but all these years later I think I am falling into a new passion!
And for a few Color Palettes to inspire abstraction...I am over the moon for pink trees now.....may never go back to "realistic" ones, seriously.
