This was a breakthrough painting, not only is it in oils (which I haven’t been able to use in awhile due to allergies to linseed oil), but it’s textured oil which delights my soul to work with.  And I used a reference photo of my mother at age 4, 1930, so of course it’s exceptionally dear. And I can’t part with it. This painting, and my Mom’s presence, remains my Muse.
