Haiku Art Journal

My commitment to myself was to keep this journal for one month: June 2011.  I did, and totally enjoyed it, then carried on a bit  (thru early August), but then when i went back East to stay with my Dad I lost momentum.

So, this is all there is…until I start up again.  I used a very old book that a dear friend and fellow artist gave me (thanks, Wakar – check out her art blog).  I covered the pages with a variety of media from white gesso, to clear gesso, finally settling on Golden Absorbent Ground, which was the least “toothy” of the three and semi opaque.  Really nice. Since I love my gouache, that’s mostly what I used, plus the ever lovely, can’t-live-without-it Pentel Pocket Brush Pen (it’s waterproof – wait a few mins, and has cartridges, buy extra).

It was a wonderful, tranquil, contemplative practice. I am a rather mystical Catholic…..so you’ll see my faith issues show up.  Warning!  :-D   Hope you enjoy!
