2013 is my Year of Gouache – I have invited it to become my Teacher. Even though gouache is an opaque watercolor, I generally paint using oil painting techniques, building layer upon layer, and to my delight many guess my finished paintings are oil paintings. Gouache is an exciting and versatile medium – offering everything from the magic of watercolor washes to layered effects reserved for opaque paints. Easy clean up and earth friendly, too.
