Here’s a little series of three paintings I created on black gessoed matboard, faces of course, as you all know they just insist on being painted. This final and third painting is a blonde just waking up. The title says it all. : )

JOURNAL: Yellow Ducky
Went to my local art store Riley Street Arts yesterday and had such fun meeting all my art friends, and attending demos, and visiting all the vendor tables. I got this little ducky from Daniel Smith – it was covered with their new Watercolor Ground. Laying on my table this morning, it became my subject for today’s haiku.
Animals have it just right…they don’t struggle with who they are or what they are to be doing.
“Bright yellow ducky
swimming, paddling all day long
True to your Nature.”

Well, this was sheer fun. Just a cute gal in the dreamtime, coming up with new ideas each nanosecond….which dream will she follow? As we all know it’s nigh impossible to follow all the dreams at the same time, right? Or is that just me?
JOURNAL: Coffee Cups for JanettMarie
Here’s a tribute to my online art pal, JanettMarie, who is starting a new series of paintings of coffee cups. We’ve commiserated about how doggone challenging those handles are to draw, and they are! Pop by and watch her progress, and while there, check out her other ambitious series of apples and pears – they’re wonderful! This gal is talented and as nice as can be. : )
Since on all my journal pages I add a silly little haiku, here goes for this entry:
“Those tricky handles
hold hand tight in coffee swell,
