My NEW Favorite Brushes – Princeton Neptune

It’s important for me to use great brushes – as an artist, AND to use cruelty-free brushes – as an animal lover.
There is no compromise AT ALL with these NEPTUNES, they are terrific – load up FAT with WATER and PIGMENT. The rounds come to exquisite points, each brush is soft and amazingly supple and responsive like squirrel brushes but I find them much hardier …believe me, with my gouache paintings I give these brushes a beating every day and all day and they are holding up beautifully. Not to mention, at a FRACTION of the price of real squirrel brushes. The square wash brushes are a gorgeous color, and have aquarelle tips…..I draw into my paintings all the time, so it’s exceptionally handy to have those tips ready to go. As well, on their side they draw exquisite thin lines. The quill mop, well it’s become my most beloved brush – it’s shocking that these are not really traditional squirrel brushes they way they soak up the water and paint. I can’t say enough, just go get yourself one or two or six!
So leave the squirrels to their frolic in the trees, and get yourself a set of Neptunes….You’ll be amazed. And NO this is not a paid advertisement (LOL) – just me, when i love a product i shout it out to the world.
I buy mine at my local art suppy store or online at DickBlick, here’s a link:
Lots more about the art supplies and materials I use here.
I am an affiliate with DickBlick…so if you click the graphic at left, I may end up earning a few pennies for another brush eventually!

Wow! You have been busy! Love this energetic work!
Coffee cups, cityscapes, whimsical faces/people, I love all that!
Thanks for popping by, JM. Yes, I’ve been busy and since I’m leaving for NY next Wed, I have been practicing in small format, 5 x 7s, so that I can stash a pile of papers and matboards, along with my gouache and ink, in my suitcase. Who needs clothes after all! LOL. Art is therapy for me.
