Woman with Short Hair – quick sketch

I’ve been practicing little 5-10 minute quick sketch portraits….so that’s what you’ll see the next few days.

I might be using this little sketch as my new avatar….I like it.  Is it a self-portrait?  Maybe….although I’m definitely older!  LOL>

I start with my sketchbook

1. spray it lightly with water
2. add sepia ink with a dip pen
3. then it splatters all very cool, and there’s a dread that says “oh no…i blew it”
4. but saving it is the very fun part.
5. leave it alone,
6. then add a bit of gouache or watercolor.
7. In a few of these coming up you’ll see a bit of pastel pencil.
