Recycled junkmail postcard (gessoed).
Sewn onto 10x8in. white cardstock.
Gouache, ink, pastel pencil,

I’m hooked, I tell you…..I love creating Beauty out of Junk.  This substrate is a postcard throwaway from my junk mail box.  I retrieved at least 6 of them in a couple days of junkmail and proceeded to cover them front and back with gesso.  After that the fun begins!

I pull out my gouache, and just start smooshing watery color around…..and then leave it to dry.  (I actually prep a few of these at a time.) When I come back to it when dry, I just LOOK until I SEE something….and this little goat appeared.  And then the flowers appeared…and they were blue, they told me. I love the look of the recycled paper showing through a bit.  What about you? Let’s go GREEN!
