I knew when I first painted CityScape that it was unfinished somehow…too bright, not pulled together, but it was too interesting to me to obliterate…..so today, AHA, it turned into the underpainting I thought it may have been, and Lara appeared. I’m new with casein, very similar to white gouache, but not as chalky, has a very distinctive smell….and no, not like sour milk as someone asked, just strong.  Pretty nice texture though.  I only bought the titanium white casein….I think I definitely want to play more with this water media.
