Update and New Travel Palette

Previous Post | Next Post

new travel palette for watercolor and gouacheSorry to have been more offline than on….i’ve been in Rochester, NY visiting with and helping my dad out – which included a surprise hospital stay.  And I attended my 40th high school reunion which happened to coincide with my stay here. A lot going on these days.

I’m slated to return to CA on Saturday. I left my watercolor zippered case with ALL my awesome supplies, pencils, travel brushes, etc…on the plane.  Though I reported it, I’ve yet to hear a response.  Makes me sick to think I left that.

At a complete loss without my little watercolor travel set, I found one at the hospital gift store no less.  Lousy paints, but a very cool sturdy case.

Also lost my SECOND Pentel Brush Pocket Pen…….one on the plane and then i purchased another one right away when I got to Rochester, only to have misplaced that too.  Times are a bit trying!

Here are some fun pics though…..and I’ll be back uploading next week.  I have been working on my new faces project……need a few supplies at home to finish them up.  Then there will be 100 new posts!  Stay tuned….

This little watercolor travel palette kit measures 6″ wide, 4-1/2″ front to back, and only 1/2″ deep.  How cool is this, can’t wait to get home and squeeze in my own paints, probably gouache. This is definitely a Slip into your Purse type of set up.

Since I use mostly gouache, I leave my sable brushes at home, preferring synthetics.  This “Snap” brush was only 2.99 but wayyyyy better than that atrocious brush that came with the watercolors.  I’ve got loads of nice brushes at home, just couldn’t justify paying so much for a new one. What I most love about this set up is that the paint pots are built into the plastic, not some flimsy papery shell that is prone to cracking like many sets.
