Cockamamie Clock

on 140lb Arches cold pressed, gouache, india ink,

I added a bit of gouache over the clock face, not to obscure the stubborn black ink, but to mute it a bit, and still keep an antique look. And I added back in the little red gems….and the yellow ones, too. Here’s the outcome of my three step gouache and india ink tutorial. What a fun project! The time is 11:11 which is one of my most favorite numbers!

I read your tutorial over on Empty Easel, and had to come over to your blog and say thanks! This is such a cool technique…I like to use things like wax paper on wet gouache to sort of randomize the paint coverage, and this seems like a similar thing.
Wow, I think I may try this… I for some reason pulled out the india ink lately and 11:11…
