More on Election nite….More palettes

I discovered this putty….and with it I am able to add spaces for more paint. See below.

In the above (totally cheap hate it) palette, but then again, it was there and empty, might as well use it, you can see on the left hand side where i added 4 more little spaces. Putty epoxy. It really works well, does not seem to interact chemically at all with the paint (allow to dry 24 hrs) and have had no seepage underneath. I’ve used it on my travel palette so that was my first experiment.

I just don’t seem to use my gouache, cuz i don’t like having to take all the tubes out each time, too much trouble. So i only used small dabs of paint in this palette to start with…the gal at the art store warned me against putting gouache in a palette like this, but I’ve read that one of you in EDM have done it, and I was ready to try it.

First time I ever loaded color into an empty palette based on temperature.
So that’s what this 18 bin palette is. Kind of my fave colors from the other palettes i work with. Plus I just happened to have an empty Homee around begging to be filled. [My palette says "Homee" on it, but i found them here at CheapJoes under the name Heritage....]

Here it is filled, (new! can you tell?) 18 of my current fave colors.

Sometimes I need to work with a limited palette, when my colors get too wild, and verge on disharmonious. So this palette is my “go back to basics” one.

Also, this circle palette is really well made….the lid has huge mixing space.

Love love love these Homee palettes….buy them empty and fill ‘em up. This is the bigger one – count them, 24! The mixing tray pops out easily for very easy clean up. These are the very best made palettes ever…imho.

I for one have done it (squeezed gouache into a plastic palette/travel box for easy access) with no adverse effects so far! Your election-coverage-palette-labelling exercise is a hoot, but also the kind of thing I am addicted to because other people’s palette’s are SUCH eye candy!

  2. LOL! Your “totally cheap hate it” palette is my favorite–lightweight, goes everywhere…

    Fun to see all thse…
